3 Splashes of Inspiration for Encouragement

One. Choosing Joy Every Day

Three. Have a God Day
1. Choosing Joy Every Day
I choose to be joyful.
Choose joy today and every day!
Joy doesn’t simply happen. You have to intentionally choose to be joyful and you have to choose joy every day.
Actually, your joy begins with gratitude and being thankful for all you are and all you have. The more grateful you are on a daily basis, the more joyful you will also be.
Joy comes from deep within your soul. It is finding beauty, happiness, and contentment in everyday things on a daily basis.
Once you’re in the habit of choosing joy every day, you will start to feel the change in yourself and the world around you.
And, your joy is contagious! As you exude more joy in life, other people around you will begin to also feel more joyful.
Today’s verse: Always be joyful.
1 Thessalonians 5:16 NLT
Today’s quote: “Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are.”

2. There will be days…..
I will follow my God.
There will be days in your life that are not all sunny and cheery. Even though I write a lot about happiness and joy, I am familiar with days of darkness.
Some years ago, I was buried in work at the office during the busiest week of the year when I received a panicked phone call. My older brother had just passed away.
Within a day or so, a co-worker gave me a card with a verse that had gotten her through some tough times. Even though it is based on Isaiah 41:13, she wrote it in her own words and it is those words that meant so much to me.
“That’s right, because I, your God, have a firm grip on you and I’m not letting go. I’m telling you don’t panic, I’m right here to help you.”
I clung to that card and that promise. When times are tough and you feel like you’re falling apart, read Isaiah 41:13. There you will find hope.
Today’s hymn: “On Christ, the solid rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.” Taken from “My hope is built on nothing less” by Edward Mote.

3. Have a God Day
I am full of life.
Today, schools teach kids to spell by using phonics. Students are encouraged to write words by sounding them out.
My granddaughter always loved playing school and she always wrote lots of notes when she was staying with me.
One particular day while she visited my office, she made me a nametag that read, “Mis Mimi” and I was honored.
But she also left a note on my desk that said, “Have a god day.” I do believe she meant the note to say, “Have a good day.” But phonics kicked in and “god day” came out.
She has no idea how much this note has meant to me. It continues to hang on my refrigerator and is a daily reminder for me to Have a God Day!
Louise’s quote: “A God day is always a good day!”
